I do a lot of night fishing and I usually would beach the boat on a beach, with my current boat it is not much of a problem getting on and of the boat since it rides pretty low out of the water. Is the V-18 that much higher? WebJan 16, 2024 · There was a thread from 2012 but motors and the iPilot features are much different now. I was considering a Minn Kota and someone recommended the Humminbird Fishfinder. I have no idea which motor, shaft length and which model of Humminbird. Our friends all have Lowrance systems on Lund fishing boats but man those are costly.

After looking at it some more it seems like the whole trolling motor unit will have to sit pretty far forward to give enough clearance to be able to deploy without hitting the boat.

The best I can recommend is to be sure the transom is sound and the 150 is good. If it meets those two the boat should be fine. Just as a after thought, pull the batteries and check the livewell and bildge pumps for any leaks. It's a easy fix if you don't mind standing on your head.
