WebI'm sure people have melee gunslinger builds by now. More seriously though, Vivisectionist is definitely the go-to melee alchemist, the SA dice offset the plainness of the morningstar with which you'd be stuck. you definitely don't use a morningstar. you take feral mutagen and get 3 attacks at full BAB.
